A great tradition of the IDMC has been casual conversations among researchers, health care professionals, patients, and industrial partners during coffee breaks, dinner parties with wine or beer, or during short excursions in the host cities. Although IDMC-13 was a hybrid event under COVID-19, we were able to bring together community members worldwide in real-time on the web, creating a sense of community and solidarity.
The IDMC archive site was established by an anonymous donor to preserve the considerable achievements of each IDMC meeting. Recently, the site disappeared due to COVID-19 and other events, but we have decided to revive the IDMC archive site with money we raised for a social event at IDMC-13.
